Arnalds has studied literature, English and Icelandic at the University of Iceland. She has written six best-sellers, three of which have been translated into English. She has worked as a playwriter and her plays have been staged and broadcasted. She has written 86 television programmes for children and a film script for a documentary on the Democratic Republic of Congo which is currently in production.



Arnalds created the first computer game in Iceland and has published three popular games for PC and Mac. These games are now being programmed for app. 



Bergljót has received various awards and prizes for her work. She was granted the SPRON culture award and has received the AUÐUR prize for entrepreneurship and innovation.
